Should have stayed in court 5 years ago. At least we would have more outcome than we do now. We are such a small group so it should be relatively easy to organise meaningful strike action which could finally draw attention to LMC's pay inequity.
This needs to come from the top, no point just bitching and moaning amongst ourselves in disparate social media groups. Am so disappointed in being mislead by the government and by the college for being such a patsy letting the government lead them on. Good leadership would have a plan in place for whatever the budget outcome was. Proactive, not reactive. I am expecting to hear of a plan sooner rather than later. NZCOM what is the plan? More like angry and frustrated we need to get back to court and do what should have been done years ago.
BTW I just saw a video on David clarks facebook page wishing nurses a happy international nurses day on 10th, yet no mention of international midwives day on 5th Why are we perplexed? It's just women and children. Haven't been prioritised for generations. View more comments. A letter has been emailed to members this evening and is available on our website and at the link below.
But due to covid 19 essential workers such as ourselves will not receive what we have been waiting for 5 plus years for???? It's time to get tough, court action, strikes!!! How many midwives must we lose, disheartened and burnt out??? Thank you for your ongoing efforts to maintain our dignity. There is an underlying current that further negotiations will be pointless. Please open discussion pathways regarding our options.
Thank you. And so it continues I truly hope there will be an announcement pronto that will finally see the long standing underpayment and undervaluing of midwives sorted. It's hard to hold onto hope after year after year of the issues not being addressed.
Well, not our jobs. Time for strike action?? Thank you, Alison. It must be as frustrating and upsetting for you as it for us. Thank you for all the hard mahi that you and other College staff continue to do on our behalf. So the next push pun intended would be effective immediately when annoyed not a lead in time or oct after they have had election Agree with everyone, if we do not get our Mana restored, then we need a radical approach.
If we dont get acknowledged now, with all the College has done, Media, we never will. Enough is enough. Thanks Alison. Not just lmc but midwifery. Very disappointed. What can the public do to help push the message? What else can I do? What a load of shit. But they can still pony up pardon he pun several million for racing.
This is a reminder to those who have not yet participated and would like to do so. We will be closing the survey at midnight on Weds 13th May To go to the survey please click the link below: www. Thank you to all of our nursing colleagues around the world on International Day of the Nurse.
