What To Do If Your Ex Is In A Rebound Relationship?
Remember Me? Buzz Articles Advanced Search. Last Jump to page: Results 1 to 10 of Thread: dumpers jumping into another relationship Does that mean they already knew them while they were still going out with their ex? Some ppl i know just break up even though they seem like the happiest couple on earth This is just going to be the harsh truth. When you are with someone and then meet someone else who gives you that feeling that you can't explain.
Ya know, the feeling you had with the person you are with now, but for some unknown reason that feeling is just gone. Well, that feeling makes you attracted to the knew person and makes you want to be around them more.
This is very bad for the current relationship. This is mainly for fear of being alone. A lot of people have bridge relationships where they are just with someone so that they won't be alone. Because they get lonely lol But if they meet someone knew and feel that cheating is wrong, then that will give them just enough motivation to break it off with their current relationship.
Or sometimes they see the knew person for a while and if the feelings are still there, they break it off with their current relationship. So to answer your question, YES most of the time they already knew the person they are so quickly jumping into a relationship with. Because they get lonely lol i actually think thats true. But it is a HIGH number. In fact, i've yet to hear of someone in my group of people I know just break up with someone just because the fire is gone.
And when they do break up, the dumper is with someone within a month. That's definitely a sign that they were interested before the break up. Stuff like that just is not a coincidence. Very rarely does stuff like that happen. In fact, i know someone right now who is with a guy one of my best guy friends who wants to break up with him so bad but she won't.
Even though she wont' admit it, it's only for fear of being alone. Not many people can handle being single and lonely at nights. I'm not really sure. I'm very much the faithful type and don't even think about other men when I am in a relationship. I would never hold onto a relationship until I met someone better. Not only is it degrading to my partner, but I feel that i deserve to be happy myself. And if my current partner isn't making me happy, it's best to walk, not wait until someone better is on the horizon.
On the other hand, sometimes, people meet someone new, and they realize that they are lacking in something in their current relationship. Just adding to what CamaroJoe said, a lot of people don't want to break it off with their partner because they don't want to be alone.
So even if they're not totally happy in their current relationship they'll string along their significant other until something "better" comes along. Pretty cruel, selfish and heartless if you ask me. I think if you see a dumper with someone else within a month, most of the time they were building that relationship with that person when they were STILL with the dumpee.

In my case, I 'jumped' into another relationship soon after because of this reason : I simply had not even one ounce of love, respect, affection or caring about my ex left when I walked. I had mentally detached from him long before I left, so in my mind we were broken up long before the actual breaking up occurred. So basically, going into another relationship wasn't a rebound, wasn't anything like that, it was because I was ready.

Rebound relationship is a common occurrence during a breakup. My clients usually get terribly anxious when they find out that their exes are dating again or entering a new relationship. They want to know how to stop this or how their exes can do this, what that means, etc. They ask, "Does it mean they're over me? The answer is, very likely, no and the fact that they're seeing someone else can actually work in your favor as it serves as a clarity and as such it can even hasten the reconciliation process if you know how to handle yourself. First of all, if your ex started jumping into a new relationship with someone immediately after the breakup or before they are completely healed, then they're most likely in a rebound relationship. A rebound relationship is a distraction. It is a connection to another person that keeps us from having to experience the full extent of the emotional pain of our recent breakup. It is a misguided attempt to move on with our lives IF we think that it's not just a transitional relationship.

The most common piece of advice given to people who've just gone through a breakup is also the thing they least want to hear: You should really spend some time alone. To someone who's reeling from a heartbreak, or is suddenly sleeping alone in their bed for the first time in months, it feels condescending and cruel. It also directly contradicts the other extremely popular breakup platitude that insists the only way to get over a person is to "get under" someone else which is the advice Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber , and maybe even Bella Hadid and the Weeknd , seem to have recently followed.
