Do i need to change my life

July 12, was the last day of my former life. The life where I was a managing partner and the director of events for a big, swanky, successful nightclub. The life where I was glued to my Blackberry and kept three pairs of high heels under my desk for easy access before meetings. The life where my brain was rife with details like how many mini cupcakes are needed for this celebrity's birthday and what size red carpet is needed for that glitzy premiere. The life I led for the better part of a decade before my current self started poking its fragile little wings out of the cocoon.

I had no idea where to start or what to do but thank God for Google and Pinterest. I spent hours drinking out of cutesy motivational coffee mugs I found at Marshalls while searching for info, tools, books… the perfect shirt to wear that would obviously make me feel empowered… Inspiring quote pins were pinned, and kick-butt songs were listened to… literally anything that would keep me rolling in the right direction.

My life looks completely different than I ever could have imagined it would now. I completely changed my life in a year. Doing a life audit is crucial for pinpointing where to make adjustments and jumpstarting your new journey.

Start by figuring out where you stand in the 8 areas of life — health, finances, personal development, career, relationships, self-care, home life, and free time.

What changes would make the biggest impact in your life for each area? Once you know what changes would make a difference, pick the one that would make the biggest difference and then go all-in on that one area for now. Two things will happen — first, the area that has the biggest impact on your life will start to get better, and second, so will other areas of your life.

So focus on the biggest impact area and watch how other areas start to change too. I strongly believe that mindset is everything. Your mindset is what sets the tone for everything in your life. Changing your mindset is what will change your life. What we think and believe is what we act upon. If you want your life to change, change your mindset… here are a few tips for doing that:. Change your perspective about anything — from now on anytime anything negative happens, instead of feeling like a victim, ask yourself what you can control or change.

I mean in a way that takes back the power we let others have on our lives, our circumstances, and our mental states. You may not be able to control how a stranger treats you, but you can control how you react to it. Have you ever wondered why it is that two people can go through similar horrible experiences and come out of it with two totally different perspectives?

Choose to be happy, choose to keep going, and choose to be more grateful for the things that are already good. They say your life is the average of the five closest friends or biggest influences in your life.

So whatever you spend your time consuming, is what will play out in your life. Find the right resources — find books, podcasts, ted talks, communities, and influencers that do exhibit the kind of life you want.. This right here was the thing that had literally the biggest impact in completely changing my life in a year. So much so that I even put together A Year of Better resource page. One of the other most impactful things I did was to join a Mastermind with other like-minded and goal-oriented women.

Masterminds are a great way to find community, accountability, and help on a more personal level. You can find a mastermind for almost anything these days with a simple Google search. Want to join a Personal Development mastermind?

Self discovery played a huge part in changing my life. Understanding who you are and what you want in life is so important. Not knowing who I was, really contributed a big part to feeling lost a few years ago.

Figure out what you value and what makes you feel good about your life and live by those values. Figure out what truly matters to you in life and live passionately by them. I wish I could say the change was as magical as making a decision that you want it, but the truth is that there is no change where there is no action. You have to put some work in, take action to make the changes, and change the course of your life. Brick by brick you can pave the road to your future. Give yourself some grace on the way.

If you lay down the wrong brick, just readjust and keep going. Celebrate the progress you make. You absolutely can change your life in a year. And in case no one else tells you today, I believe in your ability to completely change your life in a year. Feeling like you want to do the same? Allison Sue.

Feeling Stuck? 100 Ways to Change Your Life

Life can be strangely complicated. Your life probably isn't bad , but you've settled and your happiness fell by the wayside. These are key signs that you need a major life change.

Whether you're fed up with what you're doing now or you want to change something specific about yourself, you can make a decision to change now so that you can enjoy a better, more rewarding life. Sometimes, you just need to take action instead of continuing to pile up dreams without doing anything more about them.

This is the premise of an exercise I tried once, when I was feeling stuck in life. I wasn't sure what was amiss, but the routine I had fallen into was not satisfying the inner voice in me that insisted there was something else out there for me. After trying forcefully to understand what was going on, reading self-help books, filling out aptitude tests, and working with business and life coaches , I was given a suggestion that became a catalyst for some pretty big personal changes. Something happens after about 10 or 15 minutes if you employ the exercise to its full potential. You stop caring about what specifically the ideas are, and you start to release an inner creativity that may have been locked away for a while.

I Want To Completely Change My Life Now

We live in a world where nothing is certain. In any given moment there are tens of outer factors, circumstances, other people and natural outcomes involved. Because once you feel this way, you start imagining what it could be if you changed your current situation. You begin to create different versions of your life and who you are. You start visualizing being a better person, having good habits, more willpower and determination, setting higher goals and achieving them, being focused, becoming a role model. And eventually replacing the lifestyle you lead with a luxurious and much better one. Or just leaving your daily routine with all the worries and problems, and moving to another country and starting to work for yourself, for example. And this vision makes you feel stronger and motivated, makes things look possible, and even a small amount of hope rises.

How I Changed My Life for the Better

A few years ago, I decided to change my life for the better. I thought I would write about the changes I decided to make in case others could benefit from it. There were numerous reasons why I wanted to make these life alterations, but the main ones were:. I knew I was capable of so much more. I wanted to make an effort to exploit my full potential and accomplish more and I was not doing that.

I've found that the only way for a person to bring positive change to her life is if she makes the ultimate decision to do so.

There never was a moment, and never will be, when we are without the power to alter our destiny. Altering your life in the smallest or grandest way is so simple, but it requires you to do something you likely are already doing all of the time. Over five years ago, I knew in my heart I wanted a different work life, that a greater way of living a life of my dreams could be real for me if I could just take the leap. I was afraid of not having the external security that came with that job of five years.

Life-changing training programs and live experiences

Last night I had a dream. The same holds true for life changes. Most people want change because they want to escape.

Imagine feeling trapped in an unsatisfying existence. Being afraid to express your uniqueness. Having fun on the weekends then dreading the upcoming week. Then something hit me. It was a proverbial hammer to my head.

What you do in small, almost undetectable moments of your life has the biggest impact. What most people don't realize is that those who take the big payout end up with significantly less money than those who opt for the cent per day. The live for the moment culture of today stops people from investing. The point is that if you want to have a completely different life in a year or two, you need to start now, and you need to start small.

I needed to do it fast, and I needed to do it right but most of all, I needed it to stick because I couldn't even imagine living a whole nother year the way my last.

Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit. If you could just pick one or two or seven habits to create in the next few months — habits that will have the most impact on your life — what would they be? I often get asked this question, because people are overwhelmed when it comes to starting positive life changes. But if I were to start again, and had to pick one or two, it would be the one or two listed below.
