Katy Kargosha worried her in-and-out flight from Iran to Los Angeles might look a little sketchy. She had left her home in New Orleans two days earlier and flown to Tehran, where she would spend only four hours — just long enough to pick up a severely disabled passenger before flying back to the United States. Her passenger, frail and tired from the long trip, was a pug. Like him, Kargosha had once called Iran home.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. These are some of the pugs who have come through Seattle Pug Rescue before ultimately going on to Rainbow Bridge.

Phoebe passed away on June 13, , and our hearts are still broken. Macy, her little bodyguard and best friend pug is still keeping her space warm. She was the best little pug ever, so full of spunkk and determination.

What a presence she had! She came into our family 3 years ago and immediately took over in her gentle way. She was loved by everyone, including the people at Choppers her favorite store , the people she greeted from her stroller on our walks, and her favorite vet Dr Farris. Phoebe was my granddaughter's special buddy and they both looked forward to afternoons together.

I adopted Buttercup 7 years ago from Seattle Pug rescue. She was seven years old and had had several litters of puppies. Her tail didn't curl and her back legs were weak. But she was fierce. We loved her up until Monday, May 27, , when our vet helped her pass peacefully in my arms. Thank you for introducing her to our pack. It's with a broken but grateful heart that we share this news with you today.

Our wonderful rescue Ziggy crossed over the rainbow bridge last night. He can now see, hear and run free with all the other precious creatures in doggy heaven. Until we meet again, sweet Ziggy. We adopted Diego from you all probably 8 years ago and he was the best friend I ever had. He just passed on May 2nd. Countless good memories outweigh the grief. Oh how we loved her!

It was really sheer luck that we happened to adopt her. This sunny, goofy gal became a rock star in our corner of West Seattle.

Over the years, Waffles soldiered through many health problems including hearing and eyesight loss with her trademark spunkiness. And, when it was unexpectedly time to let her go in November , we were profoundly sad but so grateful that such a happy soul loved us. Thank you for the gift of a joy-filled pug adventure. Love you and miss you, Waffle girl. He was a dear sweet soul who enriched my life, and his absence leaves a huge hole in my heart. Thanks to everyone who helped him when he came into SPR all those years ago.

In Audrey came into our lives and became the gravitational center of our universe for the next eight years. She was the comforter, counselor, companion, and cuddler in cheif of our home. Smaller than most pugs, her personality was huge and her beautiful singing voice and rumbling snores joyously filled our house.

No matter who she met or what the circumstance she was unwaveringly outgoing and friendly, a disposition no doubt supported by her morning sunbath meditations see pic. We are going to profoundly miss our little girl. We can't thank Seattle Pug Rescue enough for bringing this amazing little being into our lives.

We are running a fundraiser for SPR in honour of our boy we lost this week. Although we don't live in the states anymore, he was a Seattle pug. If you could share, we want to raise as much as we can in his honor.

Visit our fundraiser on Facebook. He lived in Washington, Indiana, and most recently Tennessee - a very well-traveled litte guy. He was such a sweet little boy, he stole my heart from day one and was my little shadow, always following me from room to room. His tongue always peaked out of his cute little mouth and he loved laying in the sun most of all. His 14 year old sister Mae passed away two months ago and we think he was just too lonely without her, so now they are running free together.

We are so sad to loose him, but we were so lucky to be his pug parents - we loved him so very much. Olive crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. She lived her last years with John and his Mother, and she was very loved. She attended our events, and she always had a big smile for everyone. She was a very special girl and we all have a hole in her hearts at this news. Olive had a great life after she came to us, and was very happy.

They were happy, good boys right up to the end. Brutus always loved curling up for snuggles and naps, and Otis liked to sit in his crib we got a co-sleeper once he became incontinent, because he wanted to still be close to us but was very talented at wriggling out of his diaper and get pets while we read.

Thank you for giving us eight very good years with our sweet boys. We couldn't have asked for better dogs, and we loved them very much. We adopted Lexie in Aug , and are sad to say she has crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 9th She was 6 years young when we were blessed with having her join our family.

She wanted only to spend time with her people, go for walks, car rides and cuddle time. I will miss her wagging tail whenever I came home, the graceful way she glided when she walked, and even at the end when she could not hear or see, she knew when I was home. Our hearts are heavy and lonely without her, she was a loving part of our family and will be missed. With so much heaviness on my heart my sweet Miss Cora made her journey over the Rainbow Bridge at am January 23rd from her favorite bed, under her special blanket I made her, and in front of the wood stove.

She traveled on her own time, when she was ready to go. I didn't have the ability to save her life. But God knows that I tried. She had a rough life before she came into mine. She was blind, deaf and eventually had no use of her back legs.

I was so looking forward to her outside in the summer walking around in the yard. She always knew where I was even thou she couldn't see or hear me. She was the boss of our two other pugs, Emma and Titus. They knew not to mess with her. She got monthly pedicures, a special diet, doggy wheels, a stroller for walkies, slept with us, and even got to go on 2 family vacations to the lake. My sweet Miss Cora, run with vigor, hear and see all that is heaven. Know your Momma missed you with every fiber of my soul.

Till we meet again sweet girl. It is with a sad, heavy and broken heart that we said goodbye to our Lil guy Klaus who we adopted from SPR. We want to thank Seattle Pug Rescue for matching us to the best lil dog in the world. He was the best lil travel companion. And we will never forget him. Bless his lil soul as he travel over the rainbow bridge. He was with us for two and a half years and over that time he bonded very tightly with his widow the scandalously younger pug Sugar.

He had a good time all the time, and particularly loved barking at unknown dogs on TV. We adopted Lucy Lula from Seattle Pug Rescue in she was one of the Kentuckiana pugs brought in from another rescue group. We lost a beloved 13 year old pug, also from SPR, a week earlier. Lucy was about 5 years old at the time and helped us greatly after the passing of our senior pug. She had a sweet personality and enjoyed her treats A year ago she and our other rescue, Max, moved across the country with us to Vermont.

Lucy was a well-travelled pug. She slipped away quietly last week while sleeping

Successful Adoption

I found this book to be quite the read as the tips that come along the recipes are concise while also adding some educational value for aspiring chefs and homecooks. I like that many of the recipes are simple yet very flavourful, and thus easy to pick up for people cooking spanish food for the first time. People who complain that they can't find the ingredients baffle me in a sense because why should you criticize a book on using spanish ingredients?

July 30, — Joe is gone to his forever home on July 28, he will live with Sol, the pug. July 17, — We have decided to put Joe up for adoption but we will want his adoptive to continue working on his weight loss journey. If you are up for that challenge, please fill out the Adoption Application that you will find on our website. Joe has also started using some of the numerous dog beds in the house and is cuddling on my lap even more. When he first arrived he only wanted to lay down on the cool floor tiles. Joe loves to go anywhere especially if its in the car. He loves to go visit and loves to have visitors. Joe enjoys helping around the house especially making beds and vacuuming. This big sweetheart loves to be vacuumed and brushed although he barely sheds. Joe also enjoys gardening especially if he gets to nibble on some of the vegetables.

Rest and running are two activities that go hand in hand. That being said, this week, I learned about granting myself permission to engaging in both rest AND running. My rationale was that I could speed or power walk three days a week, and then go for more of a stroll the rest of the days.

We all immediately recognize the flat snoot, wrinkled face, and large expressive eyes of the loveable Pug.
